Ambassadors of Heaven is available in three formats. Each one exists for a specific reason.
The PDF is free for anyone who needs it. The Kindle and paperback editions are for readers who prefer those formats, and for those who’d like to help keep this ministry going. There’s a fuller explanation below.
No gate, no obligation. Read the format that serves you best.
Digital Reader Edition (Free PDF)
The free PDF exists so the book stays accessible. No payment, no signup, no barriers. If you don’t yet know whether you can trust the author, you shouldn’t have to pay to find out. Read the book, and decide from there.
This edition is formatted for formation, not speed. Scripture references are active links that open the full passage in the ESV, because the goal is not isolated verses. The goal is deeper understanding. Typography is set for steady reading. Navigation is built for return.
The Digital Reader Edition includes:
- A fully navigable table of contents
- Structured bookmarks for easy movement between sections
- Active Scripture links that open directly in the ESV Bible
- Clean typography optimized for digital reading
Kindle Edition
The Kindle edition is for readers who want the book with them across devices. Your place, your highlights, your notes travel wherever you read. Good for reading in pockets of time, and for returning to sections you want to sit with again.
The Kindle Edition offers:
- Adjustable text size
- Built-in highlighting and note features
- Syncing across devices and apps
- Easy portability
Kindle Unlimited subscribers can read it at no additional cost.
Paperback Edition
The paperback reads differently. That’s a strange thing to say about the same words, but it’s true. Reading the physical copy, I noticed things that didn’t land the same way in digital. The way certain passages sit on the page. The way your eye returns to a paragraph. The way a book in your hand invites a slower pace.
If you prefer margin notes, highlighting, and sharing books with others, this format is made for it.
The Paperback Edition supports:
- Margin notes and personal study
- Small group discussion
- Discipleship settings
- Gifting to others
Why the Paid Formats Exist
The paid formats serve readers who prefer them. They also offset the ongoing costs of this ministry.
If you’d like to read freely, read freely. That’s why the PDF exists, and there’s no hidden preference for one choice over another. But if a Kindle or paperback copy fits your reading better, or you’d like to own a physical copy, or you simply want to help keep this work going, those purchases quietly support the site and the resources it provides. That’s real help.
This applies to the other resources that will appear on this page as they develop. Some will be free. Some will be offered at a price. The principle will stay the same: the message comes first, and support is welcomed, not expected.
Additional Resources
Ambassadors of Heaven works well as a standalone read, but it was written to be a foundation for further study. Additional resources are in development, including:
- A small group study guide, for churches and communities working through the book together
- A youth edition, adapted for younger readers without losing the theological weight
- A personal study guide and journal, for readers who want to move through the book more slowly and write as they go
As each resource is ready, it will appear on this page.
