How to pray: A pair of hands clasped together in prayer against a black background, illuminated by soft light.
If you are like me, you have been around prayer all your life but have never been taught how to pray. There is no simple how-to or structured process taught by any of the institutions where it is beneficial to hold such a training course. Prayer is our most potent weapon, after all. Amazingly, so few know how to use it. Jesus gives us precise instructions on how to pray. Let's review them.
Be grateful. A hand-written post-it note pinned to a wall.
What is one of the hallmarks of a well-grounded Christian? A grateful heart. According to Meriam-Webster, grateful means: appreciative of benefits received or, put another way, pleasing by reason of comfort supplied or discomfort alleviated.  What does it mean to be grateful?
Overcome evil with good. The world loves evil, but we are called to be holy.
How are we, as Christians, supposed to approach people that want nothing but what is evil? The world seems to become more and more evil by the hour.

A lone figure stands in the middle of a road, holding a Bible and a Christian flag, as two opposing crowds on either side hold signs representing different cultural movements and ideologies. The background features storm clouds over the divided groups, with a beam of light illuminating the central figure, symbolizing faith above earthly conflicts. This represents A Christian response to cultural movements.
How should Christians respond to cultural movements? This post offers a Scripture-centered reflection on remaining faithful to Christ amid cultural pressure and division.
Waiting and praying in the last days
If it feels like we’re living through a new chapter of Revelation every morning with our coffee, you’re not alone. But instead of doomscrolling and complaining about the state of the world, James reminds us to do something radical—be patient, pray, and actually help each other stay on track. Jesus is coming back, but until then, we have work to do. So, less grumbling, more praying, and definitely more reminding our fellow believers that drifting away isn’t an option. The time is short, but God’s mercy is still at work—let’s not waste it.
