1 Peter 1:
13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
Holy means to be set apart, to be different than the world we are living in. The people around you should notice that there is something different about you that makes them wonder what it is.
As Christians, we believe that we are living in the last days – a time of great uncertainty and upheaval. But in the midst of these turbulent times, we are called to live holy lives that reflect the character of Christ.
The Bible tells us that in the last days, there will be a great falling away from the faith (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Many will be deceived by false teachings and worldly desires, and will turn away from God. But as believers, we are called to stand firm in our faith and live holy lives that testify to the truth of the gospel.
Living holy in the last days means being intentional about our relationship with God. It means spending time in prayer and studying the Bible, so that we can discern truth from error. It means being mindful of the media we consume and the people we associate with, so that we can avoid anything that might lead us astray from God’s purposes.
Living holy also means being faithful in our witness to others. As the world grows darker, the need for the light of the gospel becomes more urgent. We must be bold in sharing our faith and living lives that demonstrate the love and grace of Christ.
Living holy in the last days also requires perseverance. We may face trials and persecution for our faith, but we must not lose heart. We must cling to the hope that we have in Christ and trust that He is faithful to see us through to the end.
The Bible tells us that in the last days, the love of many will grow cold (Matthew 24:12). But as followers of Christ, we are called to love one another and to love our neighbors as ourselves. This means extending grace and forgiveness, even to those who may not deserve it.
Living holy in the last days is not always easy, but it is essential. As we strive to live lives that honor God, we will be a light in the darkness and a witness to the truth of the gospel. And as we persevere in faithfulness, we can look forward to the promise of eternal life with Christ.
In conclusion, living holy in the last days is a call to faithfulness and perseverance. It requires intentional pursuit of God and His purposes, bold witness to others, and steadfast commitment to the truth of the gospel. May we be found faithful and obedient to Christ in these last days, and may we be a light in the darkness to those around us.
