Don't forget your job! Work hard and work worth doing! Your job as an ambassador for Heaven is definitely worth doing!

It’s nearly impossible to go through life and simply forget to go to work. Don’t forget your job! Whether you wake up early or work late, your job is a necessary part of your routine. You put in effort because you need to provide for yourself and your family. The Bible is clear that laziness is not an option for believers:

“If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.” – 2 Thessalonians 3:10 (ESV)

But have you considered your job as a citizen of Heaven? If you are saved, you have a responsibility far greater than any earthly career. You are an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20), sent to represent Him in a world that does not know Him. Your mission is clear—to bring as many people as possible into God’s kingdom before you are called home.

How are you doing at your job?

Pray for Boldness Like the Early Church

The early church faced persecution from the beginning. When Peter and John were arrested for preaching about Jesus, they did not respond with fear or silence. Instead, they gathered with other believers and prayed—not for safety or comfort, but for boldness.

“And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness.” – Acts 4:29 (ESV)

They knew their job. They knew the world would oppose them, yet they refused to shrink back. And what happened?

“When they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.” – Acts 4:31 (ESV)

They prayed for boldness, and God answered. He filled them with the Holy Spirit and gave them the courage to speak His Word.

The World is Against You—Expect It

If you are a Christian, you are living in a world that is not your home (John 17:16). Jesus warned His followers that they would face opposition:

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.” – John 15:18 (ESV)

The times are not getting easier for believers. The world is growing darker, and hostility toward God and His people is increasing. But this should not surprise us. Scripture tells us that in the last days, people will reject truth, love evil, and oppose God’s ways (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

But here’s the good news: you are not alone. The same Holy Spirit who empowered the early church is with you today. If you ask God for boldness, He will provide it.

Your Role as an Ambassador

As an ambassador of Christ, your job is to proclaim the gospel, even when it is unpopular. Ambassadors do not represent their own opinions; they speak on behalf of the one who sent them. You are called to deliver God’s message, whether people accept it or not.

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” – 2 Corinthians 5:20 (ESV)

This world desperately needs the gospel. People are lost, trapped in sin, and facing eternity without Christ. Your mission is urgent. Time is short. Do not let fear keep you silent.

Pray, Prepare, and Proclaim

How do you carry out your job as an ambassador?

  1. Pray for boldness. Just as the early church did, ask God to strengthen you to speak the truth without fear.
  2. Prepare by knowing the Word. You cannot share what you do not know. Spend time in Scripture so you can give an answer for the hope you have (1 Peter 3:15).
  3. Proclaim the gospel. Look for opportunities to share Jesus with those around you. Do not wait for the perfect moment—speak the truth in love whenever God gives you a chance.

The world is against you, but God is for you. And He has given you a job to do. Will you be faithful in it?

Now is the time to stand firm, speak boldly, and represent your true home—Heaven.
